Cellulite Reduction
What is Acoustic Wave Therapy (AWT™)?
A New Treatment For Smoother, Firmer Skin! Acoustic Wave Therapy is the first FDA-approved treatment for cellulite which addresses both causes of cellulite: the protrusion of fat into the lower skin and the hardening of fat’s connective support system. Dimpled or uneven skin is a nagging problem for millions, including those who work hard to keep fit. With Acoustic Wave Therapy, you achieve smoother skin in the areas where skin dimpling commonly forms — the thighs, buttocks, abdomen and arms.
How does the treatment work?
Acoustic Wave Therapy uses pressure waves to break up the hardened collagen of the fat’s support system. Acoustic Wave Therapy also causes the dermis of the skin to thicken, which in turn prevents fat from protruding into the skin.
How many treatments are required?
Two treatments a week are generally recommended for three to six weeks. Patients may wish to have a maintenance session once every three months after completing the initial treatment program.
How long does an Acoustic Wave Therapy treatment last?
Typical treatment lasts less than half an hour.
How does the treatment feel?
Acoustic Wave Therapy causes minimal discomfort.
What results are achieved with Acoustic Wave Therapy?
The result of this treatment is restored elasticity in connective tissue, and noticeably smoother skin. Visible firming and smoothing of the skin is evident in before-and-after photos. Initial clinical study results show that AWT™ patients typically experience:
- improvement in skin texture
- improvement in skin elasticity
- dermal firming
